15 - 16 October 2019
We live in a world characterized by shifting demographics, globalization and widespread adoption of technology. This year’s conference, “Preventive Health in a Changing World”, explores how fast-moving economic, social, demographic and technological landscapes have influenced population health, and the opportunities and challenges they bring. Some of the topics participants can look forward to include:
How technology is accelerating the development of “Precision Public Health” and its potential to improve health at the population and individual level
Re-emergence of previously controlled infectious diseases, for example measles due to the spread of misinformation
New approaches in prevention and management of chronic diseases that are bending the curve in our battle against lifestyle diseases
Global health, health policy and systems issues, such as the sugar tax, use of e-cigarettes and new ways to finance preventive health
Occupational health and safety as a priority as the lines between work, life and leisure blur, as our work spans increase, and as our workforce ages
Join fellow academics, practitioners, policymakers, clinicians and students for the 14th Public Health and Occupational Medicine conference to discuss how we can address these urgent challenges. Our pre-conference workshops on 14 October 2019 also provide hands-on training in health economics, genetics in public health as well as health systems research.
